Clontarf Beach Wharf
Clontarf Beach Wharf
Clontarf Beach is an absolute gem of a beach and, despite being overlooked in a lot of "top ten beaches" ratings, we'd say it's one of the best in Sydney Harbour. Right at the mouth of Middle Harbour, Clontarf Beach Wharf offers groups the opportunity to explore the quieter bays and coves in the northern areas of Sydney Harbour. If you think this is the best option for your Sydney Harbour cruise pick up or drop off, when you book your boat hire with Ucruise Sydney, just make sure to ask our team if there are any restrictions in place that might make hiring a bot from here tricky.
Choosing Clontarf Beach Wharf for Your Cruise Pick Up
Clontarf Beach and Middle Harbour are among the more naturally beautiful and quieter parts of Sydney Harbour. If, instead of the sights and sounds of central Sydney, you're more into taking a relaxed dip with your mates or doing a bit of nature spotting, then Middle Harbour is probably the spot for you. The beach is actually pretty easy to get to from most parts of north Sydney as well, although the wharf itself does have a few restrictions in place in terms of vessel size and accessibility.
Getting to Clontarf Beach Wharf
Getting to Clontarf Beach Wharf on public transport is straightforward, but it can take a bit of time. People coming in from south of the Harbour can expect about an hour and a half's journey time, while trips from some of the more distant parts of north Sydney can also take around an hour. Clontarf Beach Wharf isn't a public ferry wharf, so coming by water would have to be done via private transport such as water taxis. There is paid parking available at Clontarf Beach, but rates can vary so we'd recommend doing a bit of homework before you arrive.
Local amenities
Clontarf Beach is nestled in the middle of a mainly residential area, so amenities such as shops and liquor stores are not as on-hand as in other parts of the Harbour. You can find a few shops back on Sydney Road, about a 10-minute walk north of the beach, but don't bank on being able to find anything and everything here. There are public toilets in the Clontarf Reserve just behind the beach.
