What are the ideal destinations or routes for a proposal boat hire on Sydney Harbour?

If you aren't Sydneysiders and you're only in town for a few days, we'd recommend the classic sightseeing trips around the central harbour: the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Luna Park, Cockatoo Island and the parks and nature reserves are all musts if it's your first time in Sydney (and make for cracking backdrops for the photos of the special moment). If you're locals, then we'd recommend some quiet bays and inlets in Middle Harbour where you can just kick back and relax in the company of your soul mate!

Can we enjoy a private dining experience or a romantic meal during the proposal boat hire?

You certainly can! Depending on the vessel you choose to hire, we can lay on dining experiences of all kinds, from pre-prepped gourmet finger food to a sit-down on-board chef extravaganza! Just let our staff know what you have in mind and we'll do our very best to make it happen for you within your budget.

How far in advance should I arrange and book the cruise?

This really depends on when you want to book for and what boat you need. In the summer months, a lot of our vessels book up very quickly on weekends, meaning it's a good idea to lock in your reservation with two months' notice. In winter, demand falls off a little, so a month is usualy OK. Sometimes we can do lightning reservations, but you won't have mush of a selection in terms of vessels. If you need something very quickly, you can call us up and we'll let you know what's available.

Can we pick up friends after I've popped the question?

That's certainly doable! It takes a little more planning and logistics, but we can cover that on our end. For example, you can arrange to have an hour or so alone on the boat (hopefully that's long enough for you to pluck up some courage), then pcik up your mates from a nearby wharf and spend another couple of hours celebrating together. It'd be a good idea to make sure the wharf you depart from and your mates' pick up point are far enough away so as not to arouse any suspicion or accidentally cross paths.

What happens if there is rain or bad weather on the day of my cruise?

If it rains or there's bad weather, your Sydney Harbour cruise will proceed as planned. All the boats in our proposals fleet feature canopies, coverings, or are fully enclosed to shield guests from rain and the majority of them are large enough so you won't feel a thing even if it's blowing a gale outside. That said, it's advisable to check the weather beforehand and dress accordingly if you do plan to go out on deck and to ensure you're comfortable while waiting for pick up. If you fail to attend, 100% of your payment will be forfeited. Rain or shine, most groups thoroughly enjoy the experience. Only in cases where Maritime deems the weather hazardous do we consider a postponement rather than a refund so it's important you are clear on all our Terms and Conditions prior to booking.

What is the best time of day to book a proposal cruise?

This depends on taste really. Mostly, people tend to aim to capitalise on Sydney's stunning weather by scheduling their event around midday, concluding at 4pm when opting for the popular 4-hour duration. However, some will opt for a slightly later boat hire to coincide with sunset, which is a little more romantic!
