The Star complex is massive and has plenty of amenities and facilities available to guests. But if you're not visiting the casino, your still in the city centre, so there isn't much you won't find within about 5 minutes' walk of the wharf. We'd recommend meeting up a bit earlier in the King Street Wharf area and enjoying a harbour-side drink with your mates before your vessel arrives.
